Terminology Tuesday: Innascibility
The Father is from no one, the source without source, the principle without principle. While the Son is begotten, the Father is unbegotten. Terms like these says, John Webster, highlight the “identity of the Father in relation to the Son” but by no means connote “the Father’s elevation over the Son as a superior principle from which the Son is a derivative emanation” (God Without Measure, 31).
