With the new C.S. Lewis biopic coming out (“The Most Reluctant Convert”), it’s a perfect time to review Lewis’s discussion on naturalism in his book Miracles.

 Again, if naturalism were true,
then beliefs, purposes, and inferences
either wouldn’t exist or wouldn’t have
any obvious power to transmit truth
and so wouldn’t give us
real knowledge of the world.
