has depth and nuance of meaning
that can be easily overlooked
if we don’t thoughtfully pause.

-To “appear” implies someone
who was previously around,
and is now making an appearance.

-And “in the flesh” implies someone
who was greater or higher or just
different than a human in the flesh.
